Artificial Intelligence Lawyers is a portal specializing in legal advice on artificial intelligence (AI), the law of trustworthy AI, and the implementation of the European AI Regulation. It is a project of Algoritmo Legal (www.algoritmolegal.com), a pioneering Spanish law firm specializing in artificial intelligence, blockchain, software contracts, and technology businesses, with offices in Madrid and Barcelona.
Algoritmo Legal is recognized as one of the first Spanish law firms—perhaps the first—specializing in artificial intelligence law. Its founder and managing partner, Ricardo Oliva León, has been working for over a decade at the intersection of law and AI technologies; He is a lecturer in the Master’s Program in AI Law, Digital Markets, and Data Protection at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) and has served as a lecturer at the Garrigues Business & Law School, the University of Villanueva, and the University of Nebrija, as well as at institutional events on the impact of the European AI Regulation on businesses.
What We Do
We provide legal counsel to companies that develop, deploy, or use artificial intelligence systems, helping them comply with the obligations established by the European Union’s Artificial Intelligence Regulation (AIR): system classification based on risk level, fundamental rights impact assessments (FRIA), technical documentation, transparency obligations, data governance, and registration with the competent authorities. We also assist individuals whose rights have been affected by the use of AI systems, whether due to algorithmic biases, discriminatory automated decisions, or harm resulting from defective AI products.
Our services also cover the protection of intellectual and industrial property for AI developers, the drafting and negotiation of technology contracts regarding AI systems, advice on algorithmic ethics and regulatory compliance audits, and legal support for startups and AI companies in investment and venture capital transactions. We draft technology contracts where the core development is based on the deployment of AI agents.
We are also the creators of Fiabilito (www.abogadosinteligenciaartificial.com/fiabilito), launched in 2022, the first conversational assistant in Spanish capable of conducting a preliminary assessment of the reliability of artificial intelligence algorithms used in the financial sector, developed in collaboration with the International University of La Rioja (UNIR). Fiabilito applies the criteria of the European Commission’s Ethical Guidelines for Trustworthy AI, the European AI Regulation, and UNESCO’s Recommendation on AI Ethics.
